CBSE Board Exam 2026: CBSE board exams are scheduled to begin on February 17, 2026. Class 10 exams will continue until March 11, and Class 12 exams until April 10, 2026. There is very little time left for the 10th and 12th exams to begin. Students are feverishly preparing for the exams to achieve good board scores. Class 12 students, in particular, work hard to achieve good grades, as this will lead to admission to a good college.

Along with exam preparation, it’s also crucial for students to know what items are not allowed in the exam hall. Every year, many students face difficulties upon arriving at the exam centre because they lack proper knowledge of the rules. Therefore, it’s best for students to understand the necessary instructions before the exam.

Many students, while preparing for exams, think they should just quickly study and write the answers. However, in the CBSE board exam, simply writing the answers isn’t enough; the way you write your answers also plays a crucial role in scoring good marks. Some students, in their haste, don’t read the questions thoroughly and, consequently, end up writing incorrect answers. In such a situation, students must first thoroughly understand the question paper before writing the answer.

Important Guidelines

As the board exam approaches, most students begin revising. For example, before the math exam, students revise formulas and diagrams. Memorising formulas is crucial for the math exam. If the formulas are incorrect, your entire answer will be incorrect. Often, upon arriving at the exam centre, students are unsure what items they can bring inside. In such a situation, they should carefully read the important instructions along with the admit card.

Is carrying a calculator prohibited?

Students are prohibited from carrying any type of calculator. This rule applies to all subjects, including mathematics, physics, chemistry, and accountancy. Scientific calculators are also not permitted.

Stationery Allowed
Students may bring a transparent scale, compass, divider, protractor, pencil, eraser, and sharpener into the examination centre.

Draw diagrams and graphs only with a pencil. Use a blue or royal blue pen for writing answers. Neat handwriting contributes to good marks.

Required Documents

Students will not be allowed to enter without an admit card. The hall ticket must also be signed by the school authorities. Students must bring their school ID card.

Students may bring a transparent water bottle to the exam. Students should carry extra pens, as they can sometimes run out during the exam.

These items are strictly prohibited.

Students may not bring mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, or any other electronic gadgets into the examination centre.
